Network operations

One network across ten buildings

50 core switches and more than 100 commercial units need a network that can accommodate changing tenants and requirements.

Fibre connections link the buildings. VLANs, routing, and bandwidth allocation keep tenant networks separate while sharing the site infrastructure.

We maintain links, replace switches, and extend coverage with point-to-point radio where a cable connection is impractical. Network plans and inventories support each change.

Crisis recovery

Back to core operations within a week

A ransomware attack called for a coordinated rebuild of servers, identities, and around 150 laptops.

We worked closely with the forensics team to coordinate the rebuild. We rebuilt the Windows domain and server infrastructure, recovered available unencrypted data, and reinstalled around 150 laptops.

The recovery prioritized the services employees needed to resume work. Core operations were restored within one week, with further restoration following in stages.

Private infrastructure

A company communications platform

We maintain several dozen groupware servers that combine local office work with familiar cloud features.

Employees work locally with Thunderbird and Samba. Nextcloud and Element add access to files, calendars, chat, and collaboration through browsers and mobile devices. Contacts synchronize over CardDAV, with CardBook handling them in Thunderbird.

Teams can work in the office, at home, or anywhere in the world. The services remain privately and locally hosted, with the organization retaining control over its data and access.

Proxmox, replicated virtual machines, and redundant ZFS storage form the foundation. Monitoring, snapshots, separate backups, and encrypted site connections support ongoing operation.

Office relocation

Out on Friday, back to work on Monday

Moving to a new office meant relocating the IT infrastructure over a weekend, ready for work on Monday.

We surveyed the new premises in advance and prepared the site together with electricians and drywall contractors. We coordinated the cabling, power supply, and equipment locations with the other trades and planned the move.

After the team left the old office on Friday, we dismantled and transported the server and network equipment. At the new site, we connected and tested every system before the employees arrived on Monday.

Backup & monitoring

Backups beyond the server room

Local snapshots, separate backup systems, and off-site storage serve different recovery needs.

We combine ZFS snapshots and replication with Rsync or Proxmox Backup Server. Encrypted site-to-site connections carry off-site copies to our own redundant Ceph storage in the cloud.

The backups are held at a separate location without bringing additional providers into the processing of client data. Checkmk monitors the infrastructure, while backup reports and our own software help track the backup processes.
